Love unites and ego divides. Love is the way not the ego.

Two departments were at logger heads with each other in a huge organization. Sales and productions were always fighting and not ready to understand each other’s pressure and commitments. Because of this organization was suffering. Production did not fulfill sales need on time, because of which the company was losing business. As funds were not coming on time so they could not buy raw material on time and because of that production also could not make the products on time. It was a vicious circle! Management did not know what to do and how to resolve. They tried resolving the situation by the influx of fresh funds but situation reached to same point in few days. So what was the solution? It was definitely not money! It was the ego clash between production and sales heads. They both were looking at own targets rather than the organization as a whole. They took external help and he suggested a huge change. He suggested job rotation! He exchanged the departmental heads’ role for two months. They had their new targets and they both understood each other’s pressures. After two months when they came back to own roles, they both started cooperating with each other. Rather than trying to fight own targets, they started trying their best to help each other. They organized new training combined programs in which they trained teams to work in a cooperative way. Customer service improved and profits too. Which improved their incentives. The environment was more harmonious and stress level also reduced. This could be achieved only when they worked in cooperation with each other rather than in competition. Ego was dividing them and love united which benefited everyone.
Often we think that competition is healthy, it might be to some extent but competition fuels ego which always let’s down one person atleast. Which in turn would try to put down the other person. In longer run it creates animosity and divides people. They might talk properly with each other but from inside they would not be happy to be wait each other. Who is getting benefited from all this? No one! What worked eventually in the best interest of everyone including employees and the organization was the approach of love. It is not only about individual relationships but also about how we work and live here. If we are living in harmony and with love, it helps everyone and if we are living in competition always, it would just create more hatred and it would an ugly sight to be seen. Thats why people feel that it is becoming unlivable. But if it is full of love, everyone would start looking forward to going to work, meeting each other, being there in the society. Choice is ours!
