I do not know if I can write enough about gratitude. Our lives must start from gratitude. Everyday must start with gratitude and must end with gratitude. Gratitude gives us smile, it gives us contentment, it gives us faith, it gives us abundance, it gives us love, it brings everything. How? Because we already have everything and we do not realize how much we have. Sometimes back, I was visiting an orphanage. The kids were well taken care of but still they are deprived of many things which a kid born in normal household would have. They had many things but still I feel the warmth every kid deserves everyday and night by hugging his mother will always be missing. Anyway, so I was talking to a child and she was having a very dull face. I asked her what happened? She said, I do not have a mother but then she started laughing. She said that I have a mummy, saying this she hugged her care taker. She said, thank you mummy! My heart wanted to cry out of her pain and joy also. I was grateful for the moment and was amazed with her attitude. I asked her care taker and she said that this girl expresses thank you on every thing. Everything she takes from inventory and everything she gets to eat. She also thanks her visitors for coming by to meet them. Not to mention, she was the happiest child there.
Often we take life for granted and we get the sense of entitlement. Gratitude brings humility and it reminds us that we have been receiving everything rather than owning everything. So gratitude is the base of life. The things which tell us that there is an issue also tell us that they are there. I remember, once a mother said, it’s so difficult to take care of kids these days, you need to run after them whole day but then it means we have kids and I am so grateful for mine!
