Someone asked yesterday, why is love so important? Why do we have to feel love? The answer to this question brings all kind of emotions. I felt like laughing, crying, smiling and everything. I smiled and asked, why do you ask so? He said that, it is not my capability to love. I can never love anyone. Then you wouldn’t be alive. He was shocked with my answer.
I asked him to think of best moment of his life. He started thinking, and he recalled, once he was very upset, his mother came and hugged him. She sat with him, held his hand in her hands. Her warmth wrapped around him and he forgot for sometime that he was upset. Then he shared the happy times he had spent with his group of friends. Ok, so let’s share two bad ones. So they both were about his break up with his girl friend. So you felt bad because love was going away from you and you felt like dying. Why, because love was going away from you. The best moments, which provide us kind of oxygen, throughout our lives were best because we received love. They are special as they are full of love. The warmth you felt was the warmth of a mother’s love. The happiness you felt with friends as you felt so love by them. Presence of love is still giving you that fresh air and the thoughts of absence of love are killing you.
The problem is we try to confine love to a particular relationship and with one failure we tell ourselves, I am not capable enough. But that’s not true!
There is no one who is not capable of receiving or giving love. Because this is who we are. This is what we are made up of. Every divine part of us is God. The light inside us is love. The God inside us is love. Without that, it will be all dark which means death. There is no oxygen without love. River will lose their flow without love. Sun will stop shining without love. Air will lose it’s velocity without love. We will stop breathing without love. Just that in our mind, we have to stop confining it. It is there, everywhere and in everything. We are breathing it. We are eating it and that’s why we are alive. yes, love makes us alive. Whether we know it or not. Whether we feel it or not. But when we feel, we feel so alive and on top of the world. This is the power of love.
