I was reading a story of a small street vendor. For everything he used to add “Prabhu” which means God. So if someone asked him the price of the apple, he replied saying its for 200 bucks Prabhu. One day a customer asked him that why do you add Prabhu to everyone’s address? The vendor smiled and said that few years back he was crossing a street and he heard a big saint giving his discourse. He is an illiterate person, he could not understand much but one thing he understood from that was, that everyone has God in him and everyone is a part of God. So he himself realized it means, everyone is God and I should see everyone as God. Since then he explained he started adding Prabhu to everyone. He also explained that since then, everyone he meets seems to be a divine reflection and he has never met any bad one. While they were having a conversation, a beggar child came and asked for something. The vendor smiled and said yes Prabhu and immediately gave him one orange. The child went away smiling.
This was his awareness, I am a presence of God and I have God’s presence in me. Everyone is same and has same presence.
When I was in school, a new girl took admission in school and teacher asked her to introduced to everyone.. The girl told her name and immediately after her name she gave her father’s name and was very elaborate on how big was her father’s business. Soon she would bring that up in everything and gradually everyone started staying away from her.
This was her ego!
The question is same “Who am I” but the answer which we have within for same would change everything. One would take us to the highest point with awareness and one would plummet us to lowest. It’s our decision to live with ego or awareness.
