A gentleman came for consultation as his wife had been suffering from one or other physical problems for last one year. He said that, I have shown her to various doctors but as such nothing is found out. One thing gets cured and another thing comes in. I do not know what to do? He also accepted that his business is also suffering for last one year. Gradually he accepted that lots of bad things to reach to this point in the business. He had made fake promises, he had cheated people etc. He played gamble also. I wondered that with that kind of negative source of money, how can anyone be healthy. And I asked him, if you have given some amount for service or charity? And the answer was no.
After lots of discussions, his wife started making regular charities, she would feed anyone and everyone she would find hungry, she would feed many stray animals also and in 3-4 months, her health started improving. That gentleman also started realizing the value of service and started focusing on setting up an honest life pattern along with added service.
Service has lots of power. Best if if it’s done unconditionally but if we are unable to do so, atleast do with some expectation. But spend some time and money in service. Every religion. every Guru, every wise person talks about service. Why it is important? Because we all are one and we all live in one Universe. Serving others is like serving a part of self. One part is relieved from pain and we would be relieved from one pain. If we have piled up bad Karma, we can create good ones too. Many things can be written but no one can dent the importance of service.
What is service? It can be serving with money, time, happiness or anything. Whatever we can give, we must give. To the young, old, poor, rich, give whatever you can. But if we are not doing, it means we have’t understood own life, own patterns, own pain. Once we would understand life, we would know how uplifting it is to serve.
