The temple priest came to my place and asked, what do you think about small street children, should they be allowed to enter and I said of course. It’s God’s house then they should be allowed. God created us equally. But why do they need to come to the temple? Because they want to. What he meant was if there is a God inside everyone, then why do they need to come inside? I thought for a second and then said that there are two things here. First thing, they have not been told that there is a God inside you and you can reach directly to him. He has always been told that God is inside temple and if he needs to meet god, he needs to go to temple. Now, we all have an innate need to be with God. Whether it has been taught or not. It’s our soul’s need. Our needs are never taught. We recognize them. No one has to teach us hunger. We know it when we are hungry. So to be with God is our soul’s need which is way above our physical body need. So we try to move towards that whether we have been told that or not. But the problem is we have been told wrong things. We have been told that God is inside Temple, Mosque or a church. Now, if we have told them that God is inside these concrete buildings, we shall allow them inside that. It is their fundamental right.
Second thing is, God is everywhere and in everyone. Do you agree and he said yes. Then why have you created these places of worship? Why d you need these places of worship? To serve yourself or to God. If they are to serve God then everyone shall be allowed and if they are to serve you then why are they promoted as a place of worship, where people should visit, say prayers and express gratitude. If you need them for yourself, why these small children would not need them?
Everyone has equal God inside him/her/ We are created by him and he is present in every moment, in every way, in everything and in everyone. If we really want to connect with God, we need to connect with self, because this is what who we are. There is no other God, other than who is present inside us. Know yourself, know God.
