With the changing times our value systems also change. When people have their own ways at the cost of others, they think they have become smart. Once we were parking our car at Hyatt hotel in Delhi, I told the person that here they charge for Valet parking but he didn’t agree and said no 5 Star would charge for this service. Well, I kept quiet while taking our car back, the valet demanded the bill which the person refused saying he wasn’t informed before taking the car, so he wont pay. Now, as they are trained on courtesy, they couldn’t argue much and had to let it go. That person was so happy saying … cool ..I saved 100 Rs. His little son was watching him and did same thing next time with his mom to get extra pocket money. No one would like to see own kid cheating the parents , however, who has to be blamed for this? Kids don’t follow what you teach, they follow what they see. That gentleman gave the legacy of cheating to his son. When he boasted proudly about what he did, the kid learned that it is a good thing and we must be proud about it. Now since when putting own values down ( ** Honest is the first one everywhere**) ha s become a smarter way to live?
More over, when you cheat others, you start cheating self too, you start living in the world of lies, you can never improve, you hide mistakes for others and you would ignore own mistakes too. Where would you get a chance to improve, the dishonesty would get imbibed in your blood, it would be so much ingrained that you would never get a chance to rise. It would keep taking you down. Before it is too late, wake up and become honest to self, have the courage to accept follies and mistakes, you did them, so accept them, we all do, no one is infallible, but if you have done something, have the courage to accept it. Once you are honest to self, you will be honest to every one else too and the vice verse. You will be on a path of self emancipation, where you would liberate your soul from lots of burdens.
