We have so many festivals..India is a land of festivals..we have festivals more than any other country in this world. Celebrating these festivals, sometimes has become more of a ritual as I see people around celebrating them as they are suppose to not because they want to. Like something is imposed upon them. Why were these festivals designed and imposed upon us? All those wise people, sages and our elders were very smart. They knew that if they try to explain things to us, we will never follow them, so they imposed upon us. If they did not want us to do something, they imposed it as a law or they threatened us on the name of God and the things which they wanted us to do..They told us these are our customs like festivals. They knew that people would forget how beautiful life is in all the modalities and they will get stressed to, they would complain and they would never like to take a break. So they induced some rituals in the form of festivals, so that we get busy in something else too.
However, the truth is every day is a celebration and life itself is the biggest festival. What do we do on festivals..we meet people whom we care about, we dress up nicely, we Thank God, we dance and few things like these where we can express joy. Aren’t we suppose to do these things every day? Why do you need an excuse to express joy? Why cannot you stand up and dance when you want to, why cannot you meet people when you want to see them instead of postponing that anyway you have to meet them on Diwali, why cannot you light the lamp when you feel you are happy…why cannot you see the festival always continues as its life. I cannot negate the fact that we have our days of stress when our mettle is tested…but then that test removes all the layers of dust which have settled on us..the opportunities come wrapped in the form of challenges..why dont you get up and celebrate as you know it, once it’s over, you will be a better individual, you will know yourself better and you will know how much strength you have, what all you can achieve in life.
Whole life is a celebration as it gives you an opportunity with a free will to do what you wish to and what you are born for..its upto you how you celebrate.
