We do not look at self, even when we look into the mirror. I always feel mirror is my best friend as it tells me who I am but only if I want to know or else mirror would keep telling me and I would never even get to know. Whenever we look into the mirror, we only look at what we want to look at not at self. My dress looks ok, my hair looks ok, I look good and done. Did you actually look at yourself in the mirror, if you would have, you would have definitely noticed everything about yourself which is sometimes told by others like there is a spot on your shirt, if you had checked yourself into the mirror, why you did not notice the spot? Because you checked only what you wanted to check, you did not check yourself.
Now when you looked into the mirror did you look into your eyes? You checked yourself, so I am sure you must have looked into your eyes too. Even if you applied eye shadow or whatever the eye makeup is, you looked at eye makeup not your eyes. How ignorant! Everyone says, eyes are gateway to your soul and if you would look into your eyes, you would look at self. When you look into the mirror, look at self, just do not look into the mirror. See, what your eyes are saying, why do you remember others faces because when you talk to them, you look into their eyes, we are always taught to maintain eye contact as a rule of conversation and when you maintain that, you get an opportunity to look into their soul, however, you are not doing it consciously. So when you look into the mirror, maintain an eye contact with yourself to get connected with yourself.
You need to connect with the self, to connect with the Universe. You are a part of this Universe and you are created by this existence from existence itself. Like we are created by our parents from their own parts, we appear different, however, we are a part of our parents. Similarly, we are a part of this existence but we may appear different. Looking inwards will help you in dissolving this duality with the existence and you will understand yourself after that.
