If you think, you are thinking then you are not doing

I am taking a walk in the garden and I see so much beauty around me. I look at a flower and jump over its beauty. I am totally wowed by it and cannot stop myself from appreciating the flower. I say to myself, wow, it’s such a beautiful flower, the colour, the fragrance, the petals, everything is so beautiful. Ofcourse, it’s a beautiful flower and it is giving a pleasant experience to my eyes and I must be thankful to existence for creating such a beautiful flower. But wait and think again! Did I actually look at flower? As soon as I see the flower I start thinking and when I start thinking I stop seeing. It’s simple. Every thought is a process of past and every thought takes you to past. As soon as you think, you judge and judgement is always based on past experiences. You are appreciating and saying it’s beautiful, how do you know it’s beautiful, because in your past experiences you have learned it is beautiful. When you are eating, you are thinking, you are thinking about everything else, you are watching TV too, so did you actually eat? If you ate your food, why you did not become aware of the ingredients? If you would have been involved with your food, you would have actually relished every spice added to it, you would have learned the true nature of your meal. You are not aware of the true nature of the meal because you ate as a process and when you said it’s tasteful or distasteful or bitter or sour, you are again judging. That’s why so many times, you do not even remember what did you eat as your previous meal. However, when you are involved with it, you have enjoyed the taste, you remember it even after days, you remember the exact taste as well, why so, because when you started enjoying it, you got involved with your meal and you stopped judging it and that’s why you truly remember the experience.
So if you want to be aware of what you are doing, what you are, you want to remember the experience of living, you need to be involved with whatever you are doing. You need to walk when you walk, you need to eat when you eat, you need sing when you sing. To be involved you need to be aware of yourself not your surroundings. You need to be aware of your doing. Once you are aware of your doing you would be unaware of every other rubbish and would be involved with your doing. Haven’t you seen how a musician gets involved into his music when he is listening with only the awareness of the music not his surroundings, he cannot stop himself from swaying. As soon as he is aware of the surroundings, he is not listening, he may even judge, if he sways, what would others think of him.
