Everything we think or speak has the power to change who we are. Use this power wisely.

When I was small, maybe 5-6, my mom asked me to chant Gayatri Mantra. It was taught in our schools too. I asked my mother, why do we have to do this? She did not know much at that time, she simply said that it helps in getting you good wisdom and knowledge. OMG, what else does a student want? Then a prayer in the school. I asked, why do we have to pray? If I think of it now, I feel my parents and teachers had so much patience with my questions. I always said I have a question! While growing up, I kept wondering about the mantras and why we have to do the. I always wanted to know the reason behind the things we do. I never discard what elders teach us, in fact, I love them because mostly there are scientific reasons behind them which they do not know themselves. But I also would like to know, what they mean. So I kept wondering about the power of words.

And I learned that everything we think, write, we speak, and every word has its own power. When we chant something it has its own power. Sometimes, it brings a different type of energy. Sometimes a different type of peace. The havan and yajnas when performed with proper intentions and mantras have their own power. All the verses which are given to us in the devotion of different Gods and Goddesses in Hinduism have their own power. It happened that my daughter was sick and I started reading hanuman Chalisa she slept well and woke up well.

Then came the next question. What about other words we are thinking and speaking? Yes, they also have equal power. Every word is changing the energy in us and around us. So we need to use that power carefully! What shall we do? Know the things which you want your mind to think. Know the words you want to say to others. Do not leave your mind without any rein. Let it be in the direction, you would want your life to be.
