What makes us big?
What helps us in achieving this?
What gives us the feeling that we have arrived?
My mom always used to say, if hard work is the thing then all the laborers work very hard. They should be the biggest people and they should be the richest! I agree! But then why do they stay poor? I got the answer while growing up and traveling. The thought process! They do not have a thought process for the future. They plan only for the day. Someone said they do not have any other option! Well, they do have. I have seen, many rising from that ground level and that happened because of the thought process. One lady was working for me, she was a cook. She said that her mother was a sweeper and no one respected her mother. So she decided that she would become a cook so that everyone eats what she was cooking rather than treating them like untouchables. One lady thought, she would become a teacher and she did, her mother was a domestic maid. Now, this is a big one. He thought that he would become an owner of the properties and he eventually had 152 slum houses in his name and he was renting them out. It was his vision and thought process. These are the examples from ground zero, there are many more!
But then what else is there? It is honesty and commitment. Sometimes, people think that they can have their ways and they can go very far. You cannot go very far with dishonesty. You can only go to a point and then you fall flat on face.
Then I learned, without having compassion and helping others, you cannot grow further. If you keep taking and do not give, you will choke. Compassion and giving make you a better human being or let’s say a pure human being.
And when I grew up I learned your faith is much needed too. Without that, you will not be able to sail through the toughest situations. When you know, he is taking care of you, he is helping you, you sail through everything.
