He was sitting and drinking coco cola. He was fighting with his mother who was objecting to it. She did not know what was the reason. She kept saying that it is unhealthy. Then her friend came in and asked him to take her to the nearby temple. On the way, the friend picked up some dust from the road. He curiously asked what will you do with this. She said that I need to put this inside the temple. He said that the priest would object and she smiled and said I would hide it. He wouldn’t be able to see it. He was surprised why his mother’s friend wanted to make the temple dirty. He said but it will make the temple dirty. She said it’s ok. The temple is very big and can take it. It wouldn’t make a difference. She continued doing it for a few days and also started hiding some dirt inside his room. One day he felt that his room was stinking. He wondered what happened and he could not find anything. He asked his mom and the cleaning lady but no one could find. The lady was smiling. She said that this is exactly what happens to your body when you put in something which is not healthy. It goes and hides every day, somewhere and you will feel the pain but you can’t find it. We do not let the temple get dirty or the place where we live in get dirty. Then what about this body. Our soul is living here. Shall we not make sure that it’s clean. If we put the food inside which is not healthy, this is what happens. And the temple also gets dirty. She smiled and said, by the way, yesterday I already cleaned the temple myself when you could not look at the corner anymore. Sometimes, the dirt will be visible because you know it and sometimes, it will not be.
He changed and we all need to change. We need to start taking food that is healthy and good for the body. We need to make sure, in our minds also, we let only good and positive thoughts enter. Because this is what is nurturing and managing our body and life. A person with stress can never be healthy. A person with a negative thought process can never be healthy and can never have a peaceful and happy life. A negative thought process will always create problems in life.
So guard your mind, body and soul. It’s your responsibility. It’s the temple. This is where the soul lives. The soul is the representative of God here. Atma is part of Parmatma.
