I was sitting with a very accomplished man. He was accomplished in every possible way. He started his life from zero, where he had to struggle for the next meal his family would eat. He wondered how his family would pay next month’s rent and how his children would have an education. Then he worked hard, and he made a name for himself. When I was sitting with him, I saw his humility, his compassion, his contentment and his peace. I asked him if he had no stress in life and he shared generally no, but there might be small tid bid things here and there. Generally, I am happy and peaceful. I asked him, how he maintained that throughout his journey?
He smiled and said that, I never let the outside guide me. I let my inside guide me. Now, I wanted more explaination. He shared that, whenever he took the smallest of decision, he followed what his heart said. What would God have wanted him to do and he never let his outside desires to guide him. Once he had an opportunity to win a contract at the cost of someone else’s company’s entire business, he did not choose that because it would have given him certain losses if he would have lost it but that company would have gone bankrupt. So he chose to withdraw and that day he realized how peaceful he felt. After a few days, he won a bigger contract, and it showed, how God was there. When he invited God’s presence in every decision he was making, he felt, God’s light was increasing inside him more and more. It made him more humble, more peaceful and more rightful.
So, he never had to do a wrong thing? Well, in the initial phase of my journey, I did take some decisions like winning at any cost and hurting people for my work and everytime, it made my life more complicated and the business would sufer eventually. I learned that going God’s way is the only way. And I started choosing what I felt inside me, rather than what I wanted outside me.
