Children come into our lives to bring back the love and innocence we had forgotten. Grateful to have mine.

So I came back home after some work and was feeling tired. Had a little persistent head ache for two days. Still like a good mommy, I was trying to do all. Taking care of the grown ups and the small ones and the husband. So when I was feeding dinner to my 5 years old girls, whom I have been trying for independent eating. Thanks to lockdown, they are little less disciplined. Anyway, so children being children acted up and I scolded them badly and I left the meal irritated in half saying, now you better sit and finish it yourself. Do not say a word until it’s finished. Quietly they finished and I was further exhausted after all this. They came and started hugging me, loving me, kissing me. They said mamma we love you so much, you are the best mamma in this world. My eyes are still filled with the tears.

I wondered would I love someone so much who shouts at me like this the way I scolded them? But they did. They had no ego. We do not love them unconditionally. They love us unconditionally. Sometimes I wonder at their love and innocence. When put an effort for them, I realize, how much love and efforts my parents must have put in for me. To make me study, to make me eat and learn and be a good human being of values. When they love me back, i realize, it is so easy to love and not to put ego in front. They teach me innocence, that how easy it is to express what we want, to have fun, to love and ask for everything. How easy it is to trust. Yes, they trust us so much. When they take anything, they will ask everyone if my mamma has asked you to give us this. If the answer is yes, they will take it. The trust they express.

I mean, amidst all our grown up responsibilities, where we have forgotten, how much we have been loed and how much more love is there and how much we can love, children come to us as a blessing of God, to tell us that love is there. We need to trust.

Thank you God, for giving me, blessing me with this unconditional love.
