I have twin daughters, and they will turn five in a few days. It’s a blessing to have them. They both are very different and they both react differently to everything. They wanted to see snow for the last one year and finally, we braved our fear of pandemic and cold and went to Himachal to play in the snow. When we reached there we had to take special suits on rent which would protect us from the freezing. So my one daughter started crying and asking to go back and one was happily playing in it. Though her gloves were wet as she had chosen the lighter but stylish gloves despite the fact that I asked her multiple times and her snowsuit also got drenched and her lowers were all wet. Still, she kept playing and telling me how much she was enjoying it. So the one who was crying, I asked her why are you crying and she said that I am feeling cold and the one who had wet hands and wet legs, I asked her, why are you so happy? She replied that she was making very big snowballs. I asked her if she wasn’t feeling cold and she shivered as her lips were becoming darker but she was very excited and happy. She said that I am focused on having fun.
They both were wearing equal clothes and they both were in snow but one was unhappy and one was happy. One decided to have fun and one wanted to come back to her comfort life. Though they both had asked for the same thing i.e. wanted to see snow.
We all ask for snow and we all get an opportunity to be there. We also arrive there which we forget and when we are there, we can either enjoy the snow balls or we can complain about being cold. If we complain about being cold, we will never be happy. If we decide to have fun, we will enjoy making snow balls in life. Every phase will come with harsh cold winters and fun of playing in that. We need to see how we are feeling about that and how we can learn from that. We need to see how we can have more fun in that snow when our bones are freezing.
So when it’s very cold and it’s snow everywhere, make big snowballs and roll into it. You will be happy and you will have fun.
