His father died a very bad death. His father was bed ridden for 7 years. And when he was in bed for so many years, he had many painful days. He had seen his father, and he was scared of meeting such an end. He called up to talk about his fears and asked, how can he make sure that he does not die such a death.
It reminded me of the verse from Bhagwad Gita.
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन |
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि ||
This basically means You shall focus on your karma and get detached from the result. You can control the karma, not the results. So he can do good but no one can assure him a good death.
Still, what I have learned is, doing good and thinking good brings good results. I asked him, why do you think his father had such kind of fate. He was hesitant but then he shared that some business deals had bad money. His father over charged.
No wonders. Because I have seen, any kind of dishonest money will rot your body. It just brings so many diseases. He was a part of using that money unintentionally. So he was scared.
However, because it was not an intentional decision, second thing is when we do bad, it brings bad results and when we do good, it brings good results. So start doing as much as good things and start helping as many as you can.
He took a pledge of working honestly, helping people and staying positive in his mind do. Instead of focusing on what bad had happened, he started focusing on what good he could do.
He met so many people, who blessed him and gave him love. He wondered if that’s how you stay healthy and better. At the age of 50, he realized he was healthier than most of the people around.
Yes, doing good and thinking good has a lot of positive impact on ouir lives.
Think good and do good.
