When I was small, my mother used to tell me a story. And I love those stories. There was a king, he renounced his kingdom and left to meditate. He started living under a pomegranate tree in a desert. He would find one pomegranate there everyday, and he would live on that. Rest of the time he would meditate. His aim was to attain salvation. So one day, he lost his patience, and he started shouting. He screamed that I have been living here for years and it does not make a difference to you. So he heard a voice from the sky. Every day you find at least one fruit to eat and continue and you are saying I do not care. I care very much my child.
The lesson I learned was that even in the middle of desert, when it’s hot and windy everywhere, we have dust everywhere in life, we will find pomegranates. We can either complain about the dust, heat and wind or we can be grateful for the pomegranate. I always keep this story close to my heart.
Few years back, when my girls came into this world, we were going through tough time as well. My husband’s business was not working and the expenses had shot up. We had to work hard, day and night to meet the expenses. But then I always looked at the brighter side, we were able to meet all the expenses. It was tough but it was getting managed.
We all go through tough times. And I am sure someone who is reading right now, is going through some. I want to tell you, you have his grace and support. You will come out better and tougher. Hold his hand and you will be able to sail through everything. He is there, holding you and arranging pomegranates for you. Be grateful and open your eyes to his grace. You will see his love even in the tough times. He is there, guiding all of us, protecting us.
