A few things in life can teach us much bigger lessons.
I was going through some financial crunch but still bought very expensive apples. So when I was cutting an apple, it was rotten from inside and I had to throw away the entire apple. The apple looked so beautiful and shiny from outside that no one could guess how it could be from inside. Then my father gave me another apple saying try this. It was local, looked simple from outside but it was so tasty and fresh. I realized how you taste is more important than how you look.
I was watching my maid cleaning the dishes when i was small. So she took lots of efforts in cleaning the inside and she hardly put in any efforts in cleaning the outside. I asked her, “Didi, but you did not clean it from outside” She smiled and said, and it’s not much required also. It is same. I am cleaning where the real work is happening. If it will stay little. dirty from outside, it will not affect anyone. But if it will stay dirty from inside, you cannot cook. It will spoil everyone’s health. So we need to make sure, all the vessels are properly clean from inside.
Lesson learned!
We really need to focus on innerself. We really need to see how we think, how we feel. How we are dealing with others actually rather than just superficially. How we have faith in reality rather than just following the rituals.
So many times, I wonder people are more worried about their clothes rather than their thought process. Yes, wear clean clothes , yes, we can wear expensive clothes and I am not against anything. But what we need to do is prioritize. We need to see how far we need to go for that. so many times, we will see couples do not even talk to each other or they talk bad about each other in reality but in public, they have an image of happy couple. Does it really matter?
How do we work on innerself?
Well, its about love, integrity, honesty, peace, faith, gratitude, forgiveness. Bring in all the virtues.
