So my 4 years old comes to me and says, ” Mommy, I want to be a princess”. And my standard answer is you are my princess. We became king and queen when you two princesses were born. You two are our princess. But she had watched some youtube videos where her definition of a princess was big frock, braids and jewelry. I think many people look at this outer demeanor and get fascinated by the word royalty or as a matter of fact anyone who is big in life. So I brought her near to me, hugged her and kissed her on her forehead. I told her when people care for others, they are compassionate and help others, they are fair in their doings, they are humble to people and give lots of love and respect to others, they think for others and the responsibilities bring them that title, this is what makes them royal. Anyone can buy jewelry and clothes but it will not make them royal. People who have a bigger thought process are really royal. I thought, maybe she will not understand but I saw her explaining to her twin sister later that when we do good things and we think good, we become princesses. So point internalized.
So another gentleman came and he shared that his son wants to be rich which is a noble thought process. He wants to grow big. And his son is buying expensive things saying, all the rich boys have these things in his class. I asked his son, they are rich and have these expensive things but what made them rich? They bought these expensive things after becoming rich but these things did not make them rich. They became rich by thinking big and doing big things. So he was asked to study the life path of 10 people who have become rich but were not born with abundance. He realized they envisioned big, helped others, they worked hard and honestly and they kept working. They did not give up on any hardship. This made them rich. It was an eye opener for him and he started working hard with an aim.
Yes, if you really want to grow in life, follow the thought process of the people who have grown not their lifestyle. Do not get mesmerized by the destination. See the journey and the thought process. This helps us in growing.
